Artist description Electric Magma is a four piece band from Toronto, Ontario who perform an often-forgotten style of powerful tuned-down riff-rock music. Group members include: Tom Brouard drums, Tim Reesor guitar, Tryg Smith bass and Jesse Labelle vocals. Smith & Reesor have been together and co-writing material in previous bands for the past 10 years. Their experience and chemistry is clearly evident by the tight arrangements and focused musical style that has become Electric Magma. The band is a song writing machine which focuses it's energy on riff-heavy arrangements and strong instrumental tones which can be heard prominently throughout their self-titled debut CD. From the instrumental Jam to the "Sabbath-esque" Ride-On, Electric Magma has clearly etched out their own place in the world of riff-rock. After spending over a year fine-tuning both their songs and line-up, and with the addition of Labelle on vocals, Electric Magma has found the perfect formula to compliment their sound. From heavy grooves to powerful vocal deliveries, their music will take a bite out of you with each listen. The production of the CD is also very organic which perfectly compliments their roots-heavy grooved-out sound.
