Artist description "It is what it is..." The only response that Shannon Taylor feels comfortable with when describing her music. She would rather pose the question to the listener to decide. It's a distinctive style that doesn't exactly have a perfect fit into any particular genre. Hints of rock, country, and pop interpreted with original chord styles and song structure are what define Shannon Taylor s music. The diversity of the influences is derived from the vast exposure that has come at the price of constantly changing scenery. Having lived in such different places as New York City, to small towns and cities in the south, the Midwest, and a Caribbean island in the Bahamas has shaped who she is as a person and what her music has become. She has recently recorded a 4 song CD which Shannon feels is a good representation of her song writing style. From the acoustic version of "Make a Sound" to the pop/rock "Think About You..." it showcases her abilities and leaves the listener wanting more. From her first solo acoustic gig in Atlanta, Georgia to her full band shows in Ohio, Shannon Taylor draws you in with her presence, energy and emotion onstage that surpasses the stereotypes of the normal "singer/songwriter" acts. Shannon is preparing to expand her exposure to the west coast and hopes to challenge many more people to listen and find out for themselves just what she is about and what "it is..."
