Artist History
SpaceOpera, Inc. was founded in q1, 2003 by Axl Wolff. Mr. Wolff is a classically trained composer under the tutorship of Grammy award winning composer; Nicholas Maw, as well as the former director of the British National Theater; Dominique Muldowney. Mr. Wolff brings together various elements of the classical “space opera” genre with various elements of techno in a full multi-aural presentation with aid of adaptive sound technologies. As a DJ, Mr. Wolff is based in the Baltimore scene.
SpaceOpera is new, and it is fresh. The majority of the crew are still in degree programs at either Johns Hopkins (Hopkins Multi-Media center), or Hopkins’ Peabody (Computer Music Lab). Born from the collaboration of these two in the inter-media spring semester class, we bring a high level of professionalism and efficiency to any project we endeavor. We view ourselves as artist in a multi-media collaboration, that final product being the complete and unique experience of the game.
Our future on the stage of audio design rests in our ability to provide content which is in tune with our generation and times, for this is our greatest advantage over any competition. We are hip techno crazed classicists and we are the voice of our generation.
Our commitment to the video game industry stands true, and our musical styles are tailored to the individual’s game development at hand. Our forte is in our strong, college-educated backgrounds, and in our understanding of classical and techno. It is through a unique synthesis of the two which brings about both class and a degree of hip unattainable by the vast majority of 40-something audio teams grooving to the beats of the time before time.
