With all of the members coming from different parts of the country, Rosehill's forming was a twist of fate that seem to fall together no matter what problems stood in its way. the name... The name Rosehill is in reference to a historic cemetery in Macon, Georgia. It being designed like the European cemeteries of old, its beauty makes it different than most. The name also symbolizes that inside all of us is beauty and that all our problems that have haunted us all for so long can be put to rest. the music... The music of Rosehill has its roots in several different styles of music. It is a mixture of groovy, melodic rock with a hard-driven edge, complimented by a versatile set of songs, pushed by emotionally charge vocals. The goal of the music is to educate, inspire, and help people cope through their problems in life. "I just want people to know that they are not alone and no matter how bad their lives might seem, that it's okay....we can all overcome by coming to terms with our feelings and letting go. We must accept the things we cannot change and we'll feel better. But we should all still remember.," Shannon Hodges (vocals). what to expect... Currently, Rosehill is recording their first album which is due out in late summer 2003. Artist History In early October 2002 Joe (bass) set out to find a new guitar player for his band who had just lost their previous guitarist. In his search he found an extremely well taught musician Ryan (guitar). After several weeks of playing with the band Ryan came to Joe with the idea that this wasn't really going where he had wanted it to. So Ryan and Joe broke from that and went off in the world in search of a drummer and a vocalist. A few weeks went by with a ton of no-goes when Ryan turned up with a phone number for a vocalist. After a long meeting with future vocalist Shannon Hodges, they both knew they had struck gold. For many weeks Shannon, Ryan, and Joe search long and hard for the final piece in the group. One late drunken night Ryan recieved a call on his phone about a drummer, being to intoxicated to speak he gave the phone to Joe, who proceeded to talk to who would become the drummer of Rosehill. They organized and planned everything out practiced nightly, and planned for the future. Six months and 4 band names later, voila...Rosehill, the next big group to hit the Jacksonville area.
