Artist History
With the odor of burning flesh lingering in the nostrils of joint compound, they strive to create dense musical arrangements designed to both invigorate your lazy ass as well as make you want to pump your fist in the air. Chad and damage first met while doing a 9 to 5, or a 5 to life, since they were both poor musicians living in the hypocrisy capital of the world, Salt Lake City, Utah. Vagabonds by nature, the magnetism of electronic music bonded them together across many miles of American soil. damage previously played bass in many San Diego punk bands, while Chad played guitar in the now disbanded SLC industrial act Cannibal Buffet, and served for a brief stint as singer for the Melbourne, Australia band I/O. As the only original members of joint compound, Chad and damage felt a need to improve upon their live sound, so hence the introduction of Byro-Tek on synths, samples, a member they lifted from another SLC industrial goth act, PHONO. Recently Stain was added on drums with his hurricane tribal fills and thundering double kick. There is a 5th member of joint compound aptly titled massive abrasions for the 21st century, and the story behind her past in veiled in secrecy!!!
