Artist description
I am an untrained experimentor of musical communication, with a strong influence in mathematically-formulated harmony and (more recently) timing.
In other words, years of mathematical training has unconsciously influenced my listening, appreciation, and composition of music.
It is not until I was informed, by my ex-girlfriend in a moment of brilliant clair-voyance (or, rather, clair-audience), that my music was based upon mathematics.
Chord Worshippers is a band for all who get an immense feeling of pain, love, anger, etc. from a single chord or chord transition.
I am not implying that only one chord should be played in a "composition", but in many songs there is one point (whether repeated or a single instance) at which the song invokes the listener's complete attention, respect, and admiration.
Most of the songs I hear in the mainstream do not contain a single occurrence of the above "apex", despite being 5 minutes in length.
I have found few artists who can consistently "knock me off my feet" through melodic/harmonic bliss, but I am thankful that they compose or have composed music.
Thank you: Robert Pollard (Guided By Voices, millions of other side-projects), Rob Crow (Pinback, Thingy, Heavy Vegetable, etc.), Debussy, Chopin, and other classical music wizards which I have heard, but am too uncultured to know your names.
