Artist History Andrew Szymczyk and Joey Beretta (cousins) came up with the idea to start a band when Joey started taking guitar lessons. Joey had a natural abiltiy with the guitar, so Andrew decided to take up drums. When he did, he taught himself how to play from watching others play. Soon Ryan Archut took an interest in joining the band. So as soon as he got a bass, he was in. Like Andrew, he taught himself how to play. Then we asked friend Jon Capci if he would play rhythm guitar and he joined. Back then it was hard because we were all still learning. So while Ryan was still learning Jon was our bassist. Then sadly Jon had to move to Valley Forge, PA. So we were short a member. We met up with Lamont in the begining of sept. 2001, we found out that he could write amazing lyrics, so we offered him to join the band. He accepted and we decided to get the lyrics done first. So week after week, Lamont would write song after song, with each one being great. The band used to be called Ultimate Sacrifice, but we eventually grew out of it. Andrew, one day thought of the name After Identity. He showed it to the band and they agreed to make it the name of the band. We went on writing lyrics untill that summer. Then moved to music. Domo Foti joined the band in Dec. 2002 as our Rythm Guitarist, which we had been looking for quite some time. He added a lot to our music, it was awesome. On april 7th 2003 Lamont decided it was time to journey on from After Identity, and follow his calling in film making. Sam Morales our long time friend became our vocalist shortly after. His voice was amazing and he also had good lyrics. One week after the addition of Sam to the band we had to let Ryan go, so he could focus more on his new band. The task of being committed to both bands was too hard. We then asked bassist, Anthony Genca, if he would like to be part of After Identity, and he joined. Most of the band (Joey, Domo, and Andrew) had known him their whole lives, and had played with him in their youth band "Wave". When Domo's work load became too heavy he decided to leave the band. Then Sam took up Domo's rhythm guitar place. We were on the way to recording the demo, when one day Anthony called Andrew and told him he couldn't be in the band anymore because of work. So exactly two weeks later. We talked to former 36 Exposure basssist Elijah Fetzco, and asked him if he wanted to come play with us for a practice. He did and picked up our songs fast. Then Sam, Joey, and Andrew decided to have him join After Identity as our bassist. Right now we are in the process of recording our 5-track demo CD.
