Artist description
We are first and foremost all about being completely honest and true to our music, by creating music that naturally folws from our souls rather than make a concious effort to write in a certain way or style. For this reason our music is really diverse from a stylistic approch. It really depends on the mood, lack thereof, or drama going on in each of our lives that usually sets the path we take when creating our tunes. Since our main influence is heavy music we tend to favor that style more than others. |

Artist History
Tony Perez and Chris Stanfield Founded Spit Pocket in the summer of 2001. They met in the beginning of 2001 by answering an ad in the newspaper for a guitar and bass player. They both audtioned for the gig separately and ended up being chosen for the job. It took three practices before the could actually meet due personal schedules. From that first meeting they new there was a special chemistry between them when they played together. So, to make a long story short, the band they joined didn't work out, and they decieded to stick together and form their own band. After grueling auditions for a drummer and lead singer they added drummer Rod Dasko and decieded to do the voacals themselves. This line-up lasted for About 1 1/2 years. During which time Spit Pocket cut a four song cd that achieved(and still is) local radio airplay, played roughly 15 local gigs, and estalished Spit Pocket in the Chattanooga local music scene. In January of 2003 Rod Dasko left the band. He was replaced by Mark Barber in March of 2003. |
