Artist description
I was born in Washington D.C and grew up in Maryland. As a child I knew that I had a strong desire for the visual arts and based my schooling around that. Although I grew up listening and harmonizing to Gospel and R&B classics, it wasn’t until the last couple of years did I find my solo voice and talent.
I write all of my lyrics because I feel that as an artist it is important to put not only your voice but also your mind and soul into your work, which affords me the opportunity to take from one talent and distribute to the other. So whereas I have to be unique and truthful in art, I have to be unique and truthful with my melodies and lyrics. I am also in a hip-hop group called Ultraviolet, which allows me to bring my music into a different venue
My songs are called green notes. Green is often referred to nature and nature is referred to that of which is natural. So, I comment and project feelings on the natural occurrences in life. Some are upsetting, some are soothing, and some make you question. But we all know that songs are supposed to make you laugh and cry and make you ask why. My desire, my poetry and my art enable me to make music, music that I have taken from the depths of me and hopefully music the will reach the depths of you. |
