Artist History
The History of Burnout: PART I. Mike and Drew had been friends for a year or so and both started playing guitar within a few month of eachother with only one major difference: Mike played well, Drew sucked. One day when Mike went to jam with a friend of his named Kevin, Drew tagged along. With nothing to offer on guitar, Kevin handed Drew a bass and taught him one quick bassline. The three proceeded to jam and it sounded good. Shortly thereafter, Mike and Kevin started a band with Kevin's friends Ben and Josh (bass and drums resectively). That band lasted for a month or two. During that time, Drew went and got himself a bass and continued to practice with Mike.
History of Burnout: PART II So eventually Mike and Drew enlisted Josh and a second guitarist who shall remain nameless and well as talentless and formed "Burnout". Burnout only ever played one show, our high school's annual CoffeeHouse. Shortly there after, we kicked the second guitarist out and realized it sounded better with just the three of us.
History of Queebo: PART I Burnout -1 was renamed to "Queebo", since it was unique, came from one of Mike's nicknames, and Mike wrote the songs. We played one or two parties and a show at the ill-fated Espresso Bar. We broke up in the early part of 1999 due to in-fighting and outside issues. Drew went off the college. Mike finished up highschool, then when off to college. And Josh was trapped in highschool until 2000. We all remained friends though.
History of Queebo: PART 2 After graduating from highschool in 2000, Josh joined the Marines. Don't ask us why! We tried to talk him out of it. While home on leave in the summer of 2001, Josh contacted Mike and Drew and they got together and played for the first time since 1999. It sounded pretty good. They made it a point to try and jam at least once whenever Josh was up on leave (which wasn't all too often). On 5-26-02, the three managed to record a jam session in Drew's basement. A few week later, Josh called Drew to tell him that he had received interest in the group and an offer to pass a demo along to major label A&R.
Part 3 : I am writing this on 3-24-03. I has been nearly 3 months since we last talked to Josh. He is currently somewhere in the Persian Gulf. We wish him well and pray for his safe return.
Part 3.1: Josh has returned from Iraq in one peace. He does, however, have one year left to serve. During this next year, Mike and Drew will be preparing for Josh's release by writing and recording so we will have a full setlist ready to go when he is out!

Group Members
Mike Desluariers: Guitar, Piano (none yet, but we're hoping to utilize that skill), and High-pitched Vocals (Tenor)
Josh Ryan: Drums, Percussion (He pretty much bangs on anything in reach)
Drew Lucey: Bass Guitar, Lower-pitched, out-of-key backing vocals, Recording Engineer (everything you are hearing has been recorded by Drew. Once he goes out and buys some monitors so he can hear the mixdown, the stuff will start to sound right.) |
