Artist History
The core of the band are Savage Soul, Steve Vine and Teo Hope. Other members were playing in different bands until we all gathered in 1998 to record the TREES album, which was published in September 1999. Since then we've been playing a lot of gigs and topping radio charts in Novi Sad and Belgrade. |

Press Reviews
NEZAVISNI (M. Gajicki, 15 Jan. 1999): Their Lyrics are very honest and reflect their emotional states, living in the war-torn Yugoslavia of the 90's; DANAS (Z. Kojic, 9 Nov. 1999): ...With their debut album (AND WHAT A DEBUT ALBUM!) Simic Quartet has swirled an air hole to the immortal (but unjustly forgotten) era of the British sixties, with David Bowie’s 'Pin Ups'... Simic Quartet were clever and strong enough to avoid the 90's slide into a cheap champagne swimming pool with sweet supermodels walking around, and suave bands playing without a trace of anger...; KIBITZ FENSTER (D. Acimovic, 30 Jan. 2000): Suddenly and from nowhere, Simic Quartet appeared with great songs that started turning on independent radio stations... Their debut album has a richness of sound and modern expression. All this, together with their obvious maturity is not something usually found on someone's first album... Their music is honest and strong, embraces Britpop and American Alternative with a touch of Punk and Rock'n'Roll, with strong guitars and open chords... |
