Artist description
Parallax refers to the apparent shift in placement of an object
when seen from two different points of view. Parallax1 (the band) offers a new experience of sound forms- from ethereal/transparent to poundingly physical- shifted and shaped by the hands of it's creators. |

Artist History
The collaboration has existed in some shape or form since 1986. Early exploration led to the discovery of the presence of thought forms within sounds. Current performances aim to bring out the synesthete in us all.
We are now working on new material slated for release in the fall of 1999. |

Press Reviews
FROM FLIPSIDE #108, SEPT./OCT. 1997:
Parallax1 CD - Wow. Cliff Livingston, Kara Thrasher, wherever you are today, I hope you have plenty of good, cold beer, (or whatever poison you prefer) and that you're working on a recording of some sort; this music, these sounds, are truly resplendent. This music is astonishing, it's so organic, so deliriously voluptuous, that if it were a pinup girl, it'd be right near the telephone in my garage. I mean, this is the Marilyn Monroe of industrial music. Get it or die never knowing true ecstasy. --Belalugo Z. ........................
FROM THE ANGRY THOREAUAN #20:
PARALLAX1 is a rollercoaster of slow rides and wild spins that employs an electronic aspect yet omits the vocals, the result of which is an interesting rock 'n' roll-based joyride filled with samples and a nearly manic pace. This band sounds as if it has taken the rhythmic pulse of JESUS LIZARD and a slightly more controlled BUTTHOLE SURFERS and made it into something that, with a bit more maturity, has the potential to be an explosive project. The slow parts may tend to be somewhat drab, but they help make the dynamics that much more exciting. The intro (Suicide) and subsequent track (Parallaxative) set the tone as described above.
