Artist History Started between school friends Darren Jilks, Jonny T, and Gavin Russell in 1996 under the name Nerve Gas. Like all new bands the first songs played were obviously Nirvana covers although these spread to Weezer, Green Day and the band's first attempts at writing their own material. In the summer of '97 the band asked their mate Nick to join on guitar. This close knit group of friends played for about 2 years together recording an Ep under the name Lapse. All memeber have fond memories of this time. Unfortunately the band temporarily split up after this with Gav, Nick and T starting a punk band called 11 sided shape. However this also dissolved after a DIY recorded EP. Nick and Darren then started Snap To Zero together in 99/2000. At first it was just the 2 of them and the project was completely studio based at Nick's house. The first recording of Stars Distorted By Rain came from these sessions. Upon deciding to take the songs to a live arena tha lads recruited T to play the drums and after a successful battle of the bands performance they asked long time friend Chaz Barnes of local band Intermission to add weight as a second live guitar. This soon became more than just live guitar and Chaz has recorded on all the recent Snap To Zero recordings. This line up will be 2 years old in November (2002).
