Artist History
'Grumpy Jack' formed in late 2000. It began as a side project for me (Dan) and Mez who had played in bands together before. During summer of 2001 we met Russ after searching for bassist over the past few months. So far most of the bassists had not be up to playing our style of fast funk rock. Russ told me and Mez that he had not been playing long, only since the previous easter. We let him come along to one of the rehearsals the following week. His playing left us astounded. We instantly knew he was the right bassist. At this point Lizzi Skan was our vocalist. We stuck with playing covers of mostly 'Chili's' songs such as 'Under The Bridge'. Lizzi left the band later that year due to the fact that she was too young to play in pubs. This left us without a vocalist which caused the band to stop playing for a few months. At this point Russ started rehearsing acoustic songs with his brother Sean. When the band reformed late last year it was just natural for Sean to be the new vocalist. We started to write new material and rehearsing on a regular basis. We now have a set of songs packed full with originals and a few covers thrown in for good measure. We have recently started work on our EP entitled 'Tales Of Ordinary Madness' which should be finished by the end of the month. We will hopefully be plying many gigs and record more in the future.
