Artist History
From the moment he picked up a guitar, Michael Bryers wanted to be more than just a singer, he wanted to be a songwriter. Believing the only way to get his songs heard and be taken seriously was to record them, Michael put his savings into a 5 track EP titled "Better Days", which was released in early 1998.
It worked. "Better Days" had suddenly brought this unknown Queensland singer songwriter, to the attention eye of the industry and public alike. Several songs from the EP received strong radio airplay around Australia and Bryers was awarded the Qld Recording Assn "Sunnie Award" for Best New Talent in 1998.
Following on Michael Bryers released a second 3 track EP in 2000, with the title track "Something in the Water" reaching the Top 30 by years end. In December 2000, Michael released the second single "This Moment". In January 2001 Michael Bryers was awarded the prestigious TSA New Songwriter of The Year Award
at the Tamworth Country Music festival and by mid 2001 "This Moment" had reached the top 10 on the Country singles chart.
