    Artist History
Greetings, fortunate few... You have been graced, nay blessed, to have been granted the rare and serendipitous opportunity to hear the works of Cooler Than You Productions. Founded by Sean Gilbert and Brooks Robinson in the golden era of radio comedy, the summer of 1996, Cooler Than You began its media reign in the venue of public access television, producing the hit (insert title here). (insert title here) sliced a swath through the West Georgia community that made it the unopposed regional leader in sketch comedy for the duration of its unprecedented four episode run. But times began changing, and the world had little use for television comedy. Visionaries that they were, Gilbert and Robinson saw that the fad that was the moving picture had been ill-fated, and its star was fading from the public consciousness. Setting their sights on tomorrow, they focused their energies on a new horizon, the future: Radio. A mere three years later, the name of Cooler Than You Productions once more resounded over the West Georgia countryside like a sounding from Heaven, resonating through every radio within their 500 watt broadcasting range. Mankind has never been the same. Unfortunately, the toll of producing six half hour episodes was more than even these masterful manipulators of the mind's eye could withstand, and the partnership that changed the face of radio and redefined comedy was inevitably broken. Gilbert went to Western Europe, determined to be at the forefront of a shadow puppet theatre movement he was certain was developing there, and Robinson was last seen departing for Uzbekistan, where he vowed to master the art of pinhole photography, the only true art of the third millennium. They may no longer be with us, but their work and words are ours forever, captured in immortality in these two albums. But I ask, my friends, is it enough? Are you worthy of such divine providence? How does one put a price on truth? On Art? Cooler Than You was not just a name, but an ideal! Gilbert and Robinson were not just storytellers, though they were masters of that craft, they were prophets of a new age, harbingers of the coming Zeitgeist. Hear their message, if you dare, but beware: To know Cooler Than You is to lose yourself, to find yourself again, and be forever changed for the knowing... Sir St. John C. O'Herlihy, Media Historian
