Artist History
CELLAR ‘s roots trace to 1998, when friends Brandon, Ruben, and Scott formed the band, Basement, in Venice, California. A buzz soon followed in the Los Angeles rock scene, and under the guidance of Jimmy Grear of Revolver Management, the band played the best local venues such as the Viper Room, Dragonfly, Whiskey, ect.
Unsatisfied with the creative potential of Basement, the search for a vocalist, who could compliment the artistic ambitions of this hard, intelligent, melodic band began. CELLAR was born in 2002 with the addition of lead vocalist, Patrick.
The melding of these four musicians’ vision, and belief in each other, can be felt viscerally in the ethereal sound they achieve. “The music has evolved beyond any of our expectations”, says lead guitarist, Scott Butler. With intense focus, and commitment, CELLAR’s ultimate ambition is to carve out a niche in the history of their genre paved by bands such as Tool, Nirvana, Jane’s Addiction, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin.
Deep into their creative process, the band has produced, engineered, and, mixed their first demo at their lock out, and is currently recording their first full-length album.
For this band, music is life, and they live the music; bringing the lost soul of rock and roll to the masses is CELLAR’s driving force, and always ready to expand their artistic reach, the band seeks other like-minded individuals to help guide them to higher levels of creation.
