Artist History Betting Texas was concieved in Febuary of 2003 by Derrick Lau. His primary vision and goal was just to play music, and he figured it had to start somewhere. So, Derrick set forth just to do that. With no desire to perform under his own name, he thought best to name this musical entity something else, as well it gives more options for this project to expand. Hence a name was needed that embodied the essence of this musical project. "Betting Texas" was thus born... A dude taking a gamble at playing music and chasing a "Texas" sized dream.
