Artist description We're a sort of gestalt entity right now, playing mostly acoustic but with aspirations of finding an outlet to plug into eventually. Usually we're a trio, but hey if someone cool wants to play I ain't gonna say no! Check back every week for a new song!!!

Artist History I've written songs since I was 12 and began playing bass in a country band and moved onto piano and trombone in my high school jazz band in Indiana. When I met Michelle in the early 80's, she began to help write and edit the things I was working on. Extremely shy, I never learned to play in public . Michelle and I both fled the flatlands and cornfields of the midwest and moved to Santa Cruz, which is certainly the smartest thing I've ever done! After thirteen years of letting the guitar gather dust, I brushed myself off and picked up my broken heart and began participating in the open mic at the local Irish pub. I met a cool Dutch guy who was learning to play upright bass on the spot and Michelle said, "you should play with him" (Who am I to argue?) Eventually, Michelle began singing with us and since it ended up being Peter, Paul and Michelle...we got the name No Marys. If you ever come to Santa Cruz, check out the Poet and Patriot's open mic. It's a lot of fun and there are some very talented musicians who turn up there. Don't miss Whiskey In The Jar!!!
