Artist History What is behind napynap? Nelson A. Pacheco (N.A.P) learned from the electric guitar his grandfather bought him in the '80s metal years. He picked up essential skills from his father who directed a small church choir. He moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1990 from Denver, CO with the funk band, 'Midnight Blue'. As the band's members evolved into other projects, Pacheco soon joined up with 'Scattered Thoughts' and became a founding member of the funk-rock band, 'Pocketship'. In 1994, the gifted guitarist introduced the instrumental mood groove. Inspired by real life challenges, this original sound created tonal and electronic timbres with a broad melodic structure. It is entirely possible that you will find an inspiring moment of your own by settling into these grooves. The sound has continued to evolve into what is now known as 'napynap'.
