Artist History
Out of Harms Way formed in March 2002 after Nick Pellegrino (bass), Matt Gaulin (drums), and Justin Bauer (vocals/guitar) combined their powers. After playing for a month or so, it was decided a piece was missing from the puzzle, and they began a search for another guitar player. On some advice from a friend, Ben Salisbury was contacted. After meeting Ben (formerly of Tied Down) and seeing him play, everyone decided this was what the band was missing. The group quickly gelled after this and began writing at a furious pace leading up to their first show at the "all mighty" Living Room in August. This show proved that the band could be a force in the local scene.
*The music that the band produces, as cliched as it is, has many different influences and cannot be labeled one thing or another. The combining of the different members likes of rock, punk, hardcore, emo produces a unique sound. This uniques sound is influenced by such bands as Incubus,Glassjaw,The Used,Hoobastank,Audiovent,Guns n' Roses,Thursday,Finch,Greenday, as well as many other bands.
*After many shows, this January Justin Bauer and the band decided to go their seperate ways. The future of the band consists of looking for a new singer, recording our first demo (set to be released in the spring), then proceeding to spread our sound across New England in a summer tour, hoping to rearrange the "popular rock" scene in our fair state.
