Artist description Formed in December of 1997, Mr. BrownStone is a Northern Utah-based rock/funk/pop band. The band is comprised of four all-original members, including Jordan Olsen (vocals, guitar), Jason White (vocals, bass), Ryan Prows (lead guitar, vocals), and Bryce Mumford (drums).

Artist History Mr. BrownStone formed in the winter of 1997. Jordan was busy recording a solo project and sought talented musicians to make his music come alive. After recreating Jordan's songs live, Mr. BrownStone took off writing original material with a rock/funk/pop style. Since then, Mr. BrownStone has recorded one CD, released in January 1999 entitled "See You in the Crowd." Not only does "See You in the Crowd" feature 4 new Mr. BrownStone recordings, but it also features artwork done by Mr. BrownStone. With the release of this CD, Mr. BrownStone has been promoting across Northern Utah, and plan to promote "See You in the Crowd" nationally. "See You in the Crowd" was produced by Mr. BrownStone and Darren Lewis. It was recorded and mastered at MIRAS studios by Darren Lewis. "See You in the Crowd" is available on the independent Culture Shock records.

Group Members The primary songwriter for "See You in the Crowd," Jordan Olsen has received years of guitar study and musical recording study. He has performed in musicals with some lead roles, which helped to build his vocal ability. Jordan created his own promoting business "Ashburn Productions" to give local bands the exposure they need. Throughout 1997, Jordan recorded original music on his own, later which he formed with the other members of Mr. BrownStone to perform his songs live. Jordan's musical influences consist of modern rock and pop. Bassist Jason White contributed one of his songs for "See You in the Crowd." Jason has never taken bass or vocal lessons, but has an amazing talent for both. He has performed in Davis High's jazz band, and was awarded Outstanding Jazz Bass Player for Davis County in 1997, and the same for region in 1999. Jason's musical influences range from jazz to rock and pop. Lead guitarist Ryan Prows has played the guitar for years. He learned to play guitar on his own, and later took lessons to improve his already impressive talent. Ryan has taught guitar lessons, and simply cannot be away from his guitar. He even took an accoustic guitar with him on his LDS mission to Brazil. Ryan's influences consist mostly of heavy and modern rock, but are also spread across many other genres. Drummer Bryce Mumford began playing a drumset when he was 12 years old. He took lessons for five years afterward, and also played in the school band. Before taking on the drums, Bryce took piano lessons for four years. Bryce draws inspiration from any type of music he finds interesting, regardless of the genre under which it's classified.
