Artist History
Originally formed by 3 members (Rui Martins – Drums Ricardo Santos – Guitar & Luís Marques – Keyboards) The Twilight Void were born in Portugal on 1995 with the name of Lisergic Sounds of Dawn, having as basic ground the psycadelic experimentalism in a electroacoustic sense, based on improvisation and conception of weary unorthodox musical structures.
In February 1996 they give their debut performance at the António Arroio Art School, followed by another concert in 1997 at the Marquês Rock Club in Lisbon now bearing the name of Twilight Void. Finally in 1988 they meet the final of the 4th Festival of Modern Music of Loures with a different approach of conceptual music that as revealed to be the following path since.
On 1999 after a short passage of a 4th element (Miguel Oliveira - Bass) The band ceased its activity because the lack of common goals and musical interests, only to leave behind a handfull of performances without any actual record of its existence (with the exception of the 1999 demo Blue Sun that was never released).
But in 2000 Rui Martins with the help of his former band member Ricardo Santos, decided to resume the project now in a home studio format, trying to recreate versions of the old material and at the same time consolidating new one with a different thematic and different styles, in the same musical logic designed for a multimedian approach.
