Artist History
"Joe Washington was born in Houston's 3rd ward in 1938. He attended Yates High School where he played tuba and drums in the marching band. Although details of his life are foggy with lapses in dates, it is my understanding that he spent his 20's and much of his 30's in Juarez, Mexico playing blues for the locals in exchange for room and board.
He returned to Texas in the 70"s and has been in Houston ever since, playing his theatrical style of guitar and amazing crowds with his comical yet soul stirring performances. He is considered a Texas Blues Legend and can be seen playing somewhere almost every night of the week. He is the blues through and through."
