Artist description
A Smidgen of funk and a heaping spoonful of supernatural grooves are the key ingredients for Franklins Ghost. For those not in the know Franklins Ghost is a groove-funk band with an extraordinary rock and roll sensibility. The tight rhythms of the drums and bass create the foundations for an excitingly fresh sound filled with keyboard hooks and a special blend of jazz / blues guitar-work. With such strong musical abilities, its no surprise that their rock-ready grooves can get any audience off their feet. The original songs by Franklins Ghost are just out of this world, and their covers include the likes of Medeski Martin and Wood, John Scofield, Beck, Ween and more. AUDIENCES SURE AREN'T AFRAID OF THIS GHOST! |

Artist History
Aaron (aka A-ron, keys/synth) and Eric (rythmatist) had been woefully jamming in hopes of finding their musical soulmates so they could get their proverbial grooves on. Well, it just so happened that a summer concert at Alpine Valley Music Theater was the precursor to those grooves! After being introduced to Eric at the show Franklin (bass) jumped at the chance to make music with some new friends. After some preparatory playing it was decided that we were in need of a guitar. Not just any guitar but a guitar worn by someone who could really play! Enter Tom. Being one of the Chief inebriators (bartender if you will) at the UW Madison Rathskellar Tom was quite familiar with the inner workings of the music scene. He quickly put down his acoustic and picked up a strat to become the next member of our Ghoulish foursome. A recent collaboration with the sultry Shoshanna Hill added some smooth vocals to the mix (as heard on Jimmy B). |

Group Members
**Tom Letzing (Guitar)
Tom is a Madison native who has played many roles over the years. Since joining Franklins Ghost he set aside the acoustic and has really made the electric guitar work for him, youd think he's been playing it for years, for he always knows where to go.
**Aaron Jossart (Rhodes, Synth)
Open mic emcee down at the Memorial Union, Aaron's brand of stage presence, is, for lack of a better term, unique. He brings fun and fanaticism to the group, and his keyboard technique doesn’t stray from the groove.
**Eric Walker (Rythmatist)
A seasoned musician, Eric has played in a number of bands including touring with The Others from Chicago. He is heavily influenced by Medeski Martin and Wood, and plays to the acute listener, creating subtlety where most percussionists would find the snare.
**Franklin Zitter (Bass)
Franklin has been working on musical projects in Madison for six years, but he's been in the groove for much longer than that. His special method of Funk sticks to the listener long after they leave, hence the name of our group.
