Artist description
Technical, chaotic, brutal, elegant, these terms don't even begin to describe an entity such as the Disciples
of Power. Screaming out of a scorched planet in decibels beyond human comprehension is a start, but it is
just that, a start! Witnessing the dimensions that have been forged while eagerly awaiting new futures to
conquer, the Disciples will always be a band ahead of the pack. Formed by guitar psycho Hart Bachmier, The
Disciples of Power was born of Metal, Speed and more Speed. Going through line-up changes, name
changes, the Disciples path had been set, and on that path they forged. Bursting in the underground, Disciples released their first onslaught on the masses in the form of the Power of Death demo.

Artist History
Formed from Warthorn in Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1985 by guitarist/vocalist Hart Bachmier. Moved to Edmonton, Alberta by 1986 and
finalized lineup with Dean Relf on drums, Maurice Williams on guitar, and
Chris Chapman on bass.. First vinyl appearance was 'Aggressor' on the
Edmonton indie lp comp 'Writing in Stone' in 1988 (was rewritten as
'Vindicator'). Put out first lp/CD/cs 'Power Trap' in 1989 on defunct
Canadian label Fringe. 'Power Trap' was remixed and put on CD by late
1990's. Second lp/cs/cd 'Omi nous Prophecy' was put out in 1992 on
Fringe. A cover of KIss' 'Strange Ways' was included in demo sessions.
Guitarist Maurice Williams went to Vancouver and was replaced by Wes
Sontag. Bassist Chris Chapman was replaced by Colin Post for this lp.
OP was produced by ex-Fist lead Ron Chenier. Third lp/cs/cd 'Invincible
Enemy' was put out on Fringe 1993 with art by Thorazine singer Shane
Hawco (aka Drifter). Fourth lp/cs/cd 'Mechanikill' was put out
independently on their own label Mindtgash Records in 1996. An 11
minute remix of song 'Mechanikill' by Shane Handford of
subNetMask/ex-Voice Industrie was put on indie release Mind Compression'
CD, an Edmonton band comp by CJSR's Metal John in 1999. Sideband
Dead Man's Train was formed in the mid-1990s as a cove r band
originally but now has it's own catalog under their own label. Shane
Hawco from Calgary band Thorazine was briefly recruited as vocalist
during 1997 after Hart's throat had had enough. Hart returned to vocal
duties as it should be. The current bassist is Andy Smith. Currently, the
band has recorded the new album 'In Dust We Trust' consisting of 8-songs with pre-production done at guitarist's Wes
Sontag's own Westudios, production by Fist founder Ron Chenier, with art by drummer Dean Relf & DJ Tsanger Banger. The band
has recently performed live in Edmonton and done a Metalfest in
Okanogan, BC with some other dates in the Vancouver area. The first two
albums have been reissued on CDR in limited amounts with bonus tracks. These 2 CDs are available by email request. |
