Artist History
Born on September 25, 1979, Cory grew up listening to the rock and roll music always being played in his home and in the car. He had an obvious love of music from an early age. As a child he would sit in the middle of the floor and play his parents old 45rpm records and albums on his portable record player. Around the age of seven, Cory began taking piano lesson, later switched to Cello with the school orchestra, then saxaphone with the marching band and bass guitar with the jazz band. His passion became his guitars. During high school, Cory formed a band with his friends and classmates called Mode Zero and they spent many weekends jamming together and working on their music. After graduation they went on to jobs and college, but Cory continued writing and playing and filled our home with his music. It was my joy and pleasure to see and hear him developing as an artist. On November 16, 1997, Cory became an innocent victim of an out of control teenager with guns. Cory's life on Earth ended in tragedy just as he was experiencing all of the wonders and joys of life. He was a freshman at the University of South Carolina, working two jobs, and loved life so much. While he can not create any more music now, I wanted to preserve a bit of the work he created and loved by presenting it on this website. The songs are a bit rough considering they were done on home recoring equipment, but I think just hearing him play and hearing his voice again helps keep Cory with us as we continue our journey on this Earth. |
