Artist description
Yunyu’s music has been compared to a wide range of artists that include: Alanis Morrisiette, Bjork, Enya, Lamb and Tori Amos.
Yunyu , as her name suggests, promises nothing less than “Beautiful Rhythms” which is what her name means in the Oriental Language. Trained in Classical piano from the age of 3, Yunyu left classical training at age 10 and decided that she was going to pursue her own ideas of what music should be.
Having grown up in a multicultural environment, Yunyu has found her own sound and her own interpretation of what pop music should be. She also learnt to play the half tube zither (Gu Zheng) this is a Chinese instrument which sounds like a harp. Her songs display influences from various ethnic backgrounds from her home town, Singapore, which she artfully weaves into various genres of music.
“No Rules” is the only thing she keeps in her mind when she pens her range of songs. “ A Prayer” celebrates strength of spirit and admonish individuals with conformist inclinations . “ You are Expendable” showcases her cheeky opinions about love stories gone wrong and “ Spill the Beans” is what she jokingly christens “the twilight zone love song” about the mysteries of falling in love. She also writes about social issues that concern her. “ Dance So Slowly” is about fatal school bullyings that have been largely ignored by society. An MTV of this song has recently been made.

Press Reviews
Great Work!! Very Original Sounding Material!! Yunyu has a sound all on her own! Great Production on all Tracks! The material is difficult to place into one genre which makes it that much more great!! I our opinion this material is well written both musically and lyrically! These songs are great because they make you think….
-- International Marketing Group (Demo Review)
Yunyu plays cute pop songs that contrast with the morbid curiosities contained in her music

…I found Yunyu’s music to be very unique musically as well as lyrically. Her interesting combination of influences from a huge variety of cultures makes for an ideal fusion of ideas for both her production team and myself…
