Artist description
"A renaissance man..."
...best describes Thomas A. Douglass.
Painter, pilot, instrumentalist, entrepreneur, divemaster and singer/songwriter.
Through all of Thomas' reincarnations and achievements, one underlying thing has always been
his passion - Music.
During the 80's and early 90's Thomas spent seven years as front man, lead-singer and keyboardist
for a nationally touring band. Playing as many as 300 dates per year predominantly in the Midwest,
East Coast and Deep South, Thomas honed his skills for live performance and had the opportunity to
open for a wide range of national acts including The Smithereens, The BoDeans, Rodger McGuinn, and many more.
In January 1994, Thomas began working as a composer, post-production engineer, and producer at one of the leading recording studios in Indiana. During his six years at the studio, he worked on hundreds of regional and national radio and television projects. One of Thomas' fortés during these years was writing music for picture. Thomas composed music for clients including The Discovery Channel, History Channel, Conseco, Allstate and Eli Lilly and Company, to name a few. Thomas also accomplished one of his dreams when he composed and recorded the music for four seasons of a nationally syndicated, weekly television program that aired in over 150 network markets throughout the country- Game Warden Wildlife Journal.
At the end of 1999, Thomas put away his guitars and keyboards to focus on growing the interactive media company (Webize) that he had started in 1995. However, Thomas never lost his love for music, and after three years without a single recorded note, he decided it had been too long!
In 2002, after restringing his guitars and dusting off his keyboards, Thomas once again returned to his passion for music. With a focus on songwriting this time, he is again proving to be a talented and prolific composer who hasn't lost his skill for writing, playing and producing.
