Artist History
Prey was risen from the ashes of Immortalized in 1999. Due to memberchanges, Prey developed a repertoire with diverse songs, best described as heartfelt, but still searching. The music contains melodic and groovy parts and has a melancholic feel, expressing the experience of life. Mostly, these are reflections of distress and hurt, but contains also joyful moments. Late 2K1 Prey has released their first promo and CDemo “Fly to…”. It was recorded in one take and was self-produced on cd-r. The response on these 18 minutes of blood, sweat and tears were tremendous.
Prey’s current line-up:
Roeland van der Velde – Lead Vocals
Marit Gast – Synths
Jurgen Oldenburger – Guitars
Klaas van der Meulen – Guitars
Jaap Kamstra – Bass, Backing Vocals
Matthijs Oosterhof – Drums, Percussion
With this line-up, Prey has found it’s identity: creating atmospheric and emotional intense music with a bombastic edge. The results are to be released in 2003 on a 3-track promo. Prey had the honour to play with Anathema and other good local bands. These live appearances even had a better impact as “Fly to…” and are praised for being charismatic, tight and variety.
