Artist History
At age 5, Karmasong was experimenting with her grandmother's organ and her aunt's piano. She recreated the music she heard and even came up with her own little melodies. The organ was so much fun, with it's percussive rhythms, arpeggiators, switches, knobs, and pedals! When she was 6, her mother signed her up for piano lessons (should have been organ lessons). For the next ten years she practiced, loathed it, but persisted. She became part of a trio doing cover songs in 1988 (with her cheesy PSR-12 Yamaha Synth). The drummer inspired her to purchase a Korg M1 synth. Once she began making electronic music on it's sequencing workstation, she knew the divided path was before her. She abruptly shifted from perfecting her piano playing ability to putting notes and rhythms together electronically. Since 1989, with a 5 year hiatus between 1991 and 1996, Karmasong has found no escape more exciting (mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually) than making electronic music.
