Artist History
Growing up in different parts of the country, and brought together by forces beyond their own comprehension. They found each other in Colorado. The orignal, energetic sounds they create is a result of each musician's own unique musical styling. Before meeting up, Ricky and Deb wrote beautiful music together and performed in venues such as The BLUEBIRD CAFE in Nashville, TN. Having gained the attention of producers and songwriting associations alike, it was time to take it to the next "full band" level. Meanwhile, Josh was busy playing drums for famed Wisconsin Rock Band.."Misses Murphy". After relocating to Denver the trio met and discovered their styles were a match made in MILE HIGH heaven. Only after being together for a few short months Plastic Parachute gained the attention and expertise of sought after L.A. Producer Ronan Chris Murphy. Their Debut Self-Titled Album is set to drop on October 18th 2pm @ TOWER RECORDS in Denver, CO. |

RIFF MUSIC MAGAZINE Article Sept 2003
WHO's MAKING NOISE! by Deanna Gloyd
Going up? Brace yourself for the high Impact of this band on the local music scene! Original band members Deb Hooks (vocals) and Ricky Brewer (guitar) began their ascent on the Colorado music scene by releasing the song "Pipe Dream", and landed themselves on the playlist of the Warren Miller film, FIFTY. In the quest to further develop the duo's unique blend of alternative rock, local Denver musicians Josh Keepman (drums) and Shaun Nelson (bass) were added to lend a powerful rhythm component. Now with Hooks voice, reminiscent of early Madonna, original lyrics, and just the right sound, Plastic Parachute is poised for success. The quartet's debut album tentatively titled Simply Ordinary was nearing completion in late August, and scheduled to be released on OCt. 15th. Look for an in-store release party at Tower Records in Cherry Creek, as well as a live performance CD release party; check www.plasticparachute.com for the unfolding details. "Amazingly, Plastic Parachute is already being traked by major record labels," stated Stephen Erwin of Hostel Entertainment, "even before they've sold one record." PP will be appearing locally at the Soiled Dove on Sept 13th, and in Omaha, NE on Sept. 27th at the Ranch Bowl.
