Biography
Formed in 1999 Kick Back are setting new precidents for young British guitar based bands. Tired of the "Brit Rock" sound and the down at the heel attitude of the current crop of UK music exports, their debut release 'This Is Not The Drill' heralded a much welcome return to back to basics, no holds barred LOUD ROCK MUSIC. Combining a heady blend of Rock, Pop, Metal and outright fun and refusing to be tied to any specific genre, Kick Back's appeal covers a large cross section of the live music-loving public.
Touring extensively in the Midlands, their abilities have earned them tour supports with the likes of Love/Hate, Tuff, Pretty Boy Floyd, Shameless and Robin Black to name but a few. Dubbed "A band of gold just waiting to be discovered" by the local press and "safe hands .. for the future of British Rock" by Nottingham Rock City's own website, Kick Back will keep bringing it to the masses who are tired of the TV manufactured artists, soulless songs and the commercialism that dominates today's music scene. And the number of converts is growing ..
2003's release "Inside" built upon the good time rock of their debut CD, adding a greater depth with a rawer and more aggressive edge; a darker, altogether more contemporary sound which sets them apart from the nu-metal soundalikes.
Launching their own website www.kickbackuniverse.com, and in particular the mailing list, has given the band the means to quantify what the live shows already told them; that there is a huge demand for the sort of rock that Kick Back dish up by the bucket-load ...the live show of Kick Back leaves you in no doubt that they are on a mission to provide some serious high octane entertainment; in their own words "A big surpise if you thought rock had died".
