Artist description
I'm a random rhymesayer who just enjoys making hip hop. That's pretty much the sum of it. Battle raps, sketchy shit, comedy, deep philosophical explorations into the human psyche.. you name it and i've probably done it. I dont really like to put myself into any group which is why i use "random" so much i spose.
I like to lie to myself and say that i just do the music for myself but really tho', i wanna be heard by as many people as possible.. whether they like me or not - fuck it - least they heard me. Hopefully i'll grow on them. Like a tumour.
Actually, it's a quasi-truth cuz i DO pretty much do it for myself in terms of content and style and that.. it's just that i want people to hear my twist on it all. You get me?
I've confused myself.. hmm.. listen to the music. Self-explanatory. |

Artist History
( theres a much more detailed history at http://www.english-bob.co.uk )
I started writing stuff years and years ago now.. but never really did much with it except put the shit up online. Textual rapping *shudders* I was young. Dont hold it against me. I didn't really start recording anything 'til '96 when i discovered battling on the internet. Fun. I did it for a wee while before giving it up after reaching the giddy heights of international stardom by finishing 3rd in the first ever www.rhymearena.com competition. (Just one place behind tonedeff who's name is now on the tip of everybody's tongue like estacy. I liked him when he was underground haha...) Err.. yeah. So, i stopped doing those battle things and started trying to write songs with varying success. That went on for a while 'til i did a full on solo CD in 2001 called "Random Stuff". 16 tracks of me which i'm very proud of it despite it's few admitted flaws.
While i was making the CD, i also started doing live stuff at a few places (open mic type shit) which is still my favourite hip hop related thing to do. I also hooked up with the artist formally known as G to form 'idiosyncrasy'. We're dope. We were supposed to have a CD out yonks ago but as it turned out, i did my second one before the group project even got out the gates. "Random E.P. Jobby" is my second solo endeavour.. just 5 tracks but they're all pure quality. It's to tide people over until the next full album which should be out early 2003. I urge everyone to buy it.
I realise this is a poor history but as i said at the top, if you want detail, go to my site. Word! :-) |
