Artist History
as a wee youngin' Graeme started playing a guitar he bought from his cousin in Ottawa, Ontario, for $120. after a few years of lessons on and off by a few different music schools, (tauber music, creative guitar studio), he started to make songs using a simple computer program and samples from other songs. he did that for a while and uploaded them to his official music site, (http://xifodia.8m.com). after a while he found ways to record guitar into these simple songs, but not very well, and still no lyrics. after being shown the line6 pod in a guitar manual by his teacher at creative guitar studio, he decided to rent it for a month. after going to radio shack and buying a microphone, he recorded a few simple songs using the program on the computer for drums and basically no bass. they sounded not bad, but not great. after purchasing the pod, he continued to make songs in his spare time just for fun. these songs to follow were released on the "trichinosis" cd. as he continued making songs, he got better and better at it, and his music choice changed over time. from the industrial-techno sounds of "trichinosis" through the harder, faster "oxygenesis", to the ska-driven "a fool-proof plan" and then the most punk release "eat cheese everyday." under a more political influence, having studied politics in school and understanding more about the system and it's many flaws, a cd entitled "the odds are against us" was released, which was the longest release to date, with a monster 24 songs and a total track time of almost 74 minutes. over the summer of 2002 emotions became an important factor and a number of songs written at that time i put on another new cd titled "2 weeks in june,' which contains influences from weezer all the way to operation ivy. a new disc, tentitively titled "the rebound" will be released fairly soon in the 2003 year hopefully by mid-spring. still using the drum patterns from the computer, but recording with much better quality, Graeme will yet get a band in the studio and record some of the best songs from the 4 albums. all songs mixed and recorded by Graeme. |
