Artist History
Formed in 1992 by harpist Thomas Dodd, Trio Nocturna first rose to cult status for it's 1994 cassette release - "Morphia"; a sought-after relic which is long out of print. In 1995 a new lineup put out "Tears of Light" which retained the ethereal atmosphere of the first demo while adding new depths of melody and a much more overtly Celtic sound. The band recruited New Age superstar Jamii Szmadzinski ( known for his work with Shadowfax ) to play electronic violin on their 1996 album "Songs of the Celtic Night" which garnered rave reviews in the mainstream media. However, yet another lineup change signalled the beginning of the end for Trio Nocturna. The group finally ground to a halt in 1997. Dodd has worked on numerous projects since then; recording with Michael Gira of the Swans and scoring documentary soundtracks for TBS . He has lately emerged with a new band entitled Mythology who can be found at www.myth-ology.com or in the electronic section of mp3. |

Wampior Press (U.S.newsletter)-"One of the most hauntingly beautiful Celtic-influenced groups I have ever heard, Trio Nocturna's music draws you in it's spell" New Age Retailer (U.S. magazine) " beautifully summons forth the gallant, courtly love of a time long since lost to myth..." |
