SFB was formed in 1992 by founding members Galen Kline(Keys,Vocals), Dave Stasiowski(Guitar), and Paul Stasiowski(Bass). SFB makes there home in San Francisco, California, though tour throughout California and Nevada. The purpose of SFB was to celebrate a new found union of heavy based music and college radio rock. With addition of Winslow Kelley(Drums), SFB has fused music styles together much like predecessors such as Faith No More or Nine inch Nails have. "We believe in the creation of a new style of music. We are not content to follow trends or the status quo" says the band. In other words as there slogan goes "Reinvention not regurgitation." Style-wise there really isn't a single band you could pinpoint as a clear influence. They are heavy, and soft at the same time. They are not afraid to use chunky riffs with string ensembles or acoustic guitars with techno beats. The music can be intense or ethereal, and from song to song change violently between the two. SFB has garnered National attention with various magazine articles as well as college radio. They have just released the new album "The Last Dance" on MBI Records. It is a culmination of 2 years of blood and sweat from touring and writing. If you like Tool, NIN, Korn, even Depeche Mode, check this band out!SFB-- The Last Dance San Francisco's SFB is one band that's not afraid to turn it up, and they're not about to be sidelined with following any trends. With a healthy dose of heavy guitar riffs and high-energy songwriting, SFB truly delivers in tracks like "Nothingland," "Game," and "Last Dance." Songs like "Fall" and "When the Pain Stops" cast in the band in a more laid-back setting, trading in the need for speed to create shining musical moments. With albums like this one, it's safe to say that this won't be their last of anything. -- Omar PerezAlter Native.comGrunge in its most technically proficient form. Plenty of prog influences, with the odd spaces nod as well. This is extremely well-played; the musicians hit their marks throughout.Aiding and AbettingSFB The Last DanceMBI Records****SFB is a San Francisco quartet that mixes it up quite a bit on their 9 track CD The Last Dance. They can move you in the usual aggro rock way, complete with big guitars and anguished vocals ("Nothingland,") or they can make you move to the beat a la Trent Reznor ("When The Pain Stops.") Reminscient of Stabbing Westward and Gravity Kills, the best thing about SFB is they never lose sight of a melody. Even while there's a techno beat over a churning guitar, these guys still find time to deliver a hook that'll stick in your head ("Fall.") Impressive stuff for any fan of NIN, FNM, or suped up college rock. Contact them at sfbcars@aol.com.Unsealed, Sound420, TheGauntlet
