Artist History
Proon came together in late 1997 when guitarist Scott Vaughn and drummer Victor Balta set out to find a bassist and a singer/lyricist and stumbled upon Ken Cuozzo and Curtiss Pflager to fit those roles. Combining such diverse influences as Merle Haggard and Radiohead, there was near-instant chemistry as the band had laid a solid foundation for its first-ever song, “The Secret,” by the end of its first practice. |

Press Reviews
Straightforward, no-nonsense, aggressive post-grunge rock. That's all it is. Alternative? To what? These days that word describes the mainstream, and Sacramento's PROON is anything. Sandwiched somewhere in between the hardcore rap/metal smiley-face pop that dominates today's music scene, PROON offers a universally appealing sound which manages to be edgy without sacrificing melody. |
