Artist description
Former singer/songwriter of Crossfire Choir.
Group formed in South Florida, moved to New Jersey,
managed by Hilly Kristal (CBGB's owner) signed to Geffen Records.
Debut record produced by Steve Lillywhite (U2/XTC,etc.) in London, band dropped, resigned with Seattle outfit, Track Records.
Recorded second record with Ed Stasium (Smithereens/Living Colour).
Eventually disbanded after touring/opening shows with the likes of Culture Club, Thompson Twins, Midnight Oil, Love & Rockets, Lords of the New Church, Goo Goo Dolls, Spin Doctors, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Wang Chung, many others.
Jay Pounders has continued to write/record since that time as a solo singer/songwriter and now occasionally with new band, The Sewing Circle Sues (featuring some ex-members of Crossfire Choir). |
