Artist description
Gruvis Malt is a six piece futurock band from Providence, RI. Several terms have been used to describe their music (some of the kinder terms include "tight" "tasteful" "pasty" "slammin'" "eclectic" "not like anything else, and also original"). Their live show is berzerker, very cerebral. Basically, MTV is probably not ready. And neither is most of middleclass America. There's not a lot of room for a band like this with strong performances by the Backstreet Boys, Sugar Ray, and Creed dominating today's mindset. Give Grüvis Malt a try if you're sick of fluff and Mayodijonaionaise. |

Artist History
Started in '95. Much endured. Banging their heads against the bottleneck of American musicians' success. Very real and very honest. And very original, and mature musically. Shorter than your average person. |

Press Reviews
During Gruvis Malt's "energetic stage performances...the images and emotions of the band spill over into the audience." "The music they are creating is something new, something people won't expect. The no-nonsense blend of rock that this particular band has established through 5 years
of experimenting is, in my opinion, pure art." -Titan Magazine
"Gruvis Malt is constantly exploring textures and sounds... the uptempo pace rarely slips." "Songs twist left when you think they're heading right." "like watching George Clinton, except the guys are a third Clinton's age and twice as energetic." -Prov. Journal
"What could an unknown band from the smallest state in the union have to offer a pop nation swayed by radio play and cash flaunting? Enlightenment... Gruvis Malt is a threat to the music industry as we know it." They lack "the shallow immaturity that seems to attach itself to a good deal of today's hit rockers and rappers." -The Contra Costa (CA) Times |
