Artist History
With most bands there is an inevitable insistence to go with the grain not against it. Calous is a band that not only goes against the grain, they don't even acknowledge that it's there. Unbridled passion is the focus of this band. While never allowing anything to become stereotypical, always seemingly unaware of the trends and avoiding the prosaic trappings of the times..
The idea of Calous was spawned in the early 90's. The brainchild of Des Moines native Norman Miller, it's only intention: To be as ugly and as offensive as possible. At the same time writing songs with an undeniable groove and memorable hooks. Something that sticks to you like dried blood. "We're like the navy seals, we come in, stomp ass, then get the hell out", Norm describing Calous' live show.
Fast forward: 2003. After various member changes Calous is now a powerhouse of unrelenting fury. With newest additions Carlos Echevarria on guitar, Harold Waits on guitar, Joe Corigliano on drums and Ron Letts on samples and percussion. Calous now has within it's fold a group of top musicians culminating years of experience. One can only imagine what this band is and will be capable of doing in the years to come... |
