Artist description
Welcome to the home of Philadelphia’s secret sons of Garage. Welcome to Hilliard. If you’re looking for a welcome relief from your workday of morning zoos, talk radio, easy listening, and static contorted AM radio then you’re in the right place. This is real-life-in-your-face-hey-stop-pushing-wait-I-kind-of-like-it-yeah-more-I-want-more music. The perfect blend of garage, rock, punk, and Lo-Fi. Thumbing their noses at the foisting of contemporary radio, they stand on stage and confront an audience fatigued by populous music. So ride the rock-n-roll resurgent tsunami with Philly’s own garrison of the garage. Join the army of rock. Join Hilliard.
DISCLAIMER: For those of you scared off by the previous paragraph let me deluge some more banal information that may offer you easement. They are not a shouting punk band lamenting verbose hatred or even implying that certain political decision have been made by sullen monkeys living deep within the confines of the earth’s core. They do not hate you or your middle class suburbanite family, nor do they devour uncooked animals on stage. But the occasional chicken finger has lost itself…

Adam Plante - Bass Guitar, Beer.
Ages ago the monks moved from the valleys to the mountains to learn to control their sometimes violent tendencies. They were able to maintain a peaceful existence not due to solidarity but thanks to beer. Beer kept the monks in line just as Adam’s bass keeps the melody in line. Steady, like the hand of an inebriated alcoholic, with a dash of leftover angst, low on hops, and with a smooth finish. Drink up, its Hilliard time.
50,000 Waltz Epting - Drums, Backing Vocals
Walk through an electric storm soaking wet with an FM radio and you’ll have only the slightest idea what it feels like to be behind Walt’s kit. He can drive a beat into the ground and up from the ashes in one flick of his wrists. Feeling masochistic? Put your hand on the snare…I dare ya!
Joseph Lekkas - Vocals, Guitar
Have you ever seen a ballerina in a mosh pit? They’re not the fragile-yet-agile ingénues you may think they are. They rock out harder than greasy-haired, flannel covered Seattle-ites, but with an uncanny fluidity that brings an intellect to the motion. Joe’s the same way. Classically trained, rock brained – he mixes intuitive chords with intelligent lyrics screaming at you, but in a Pavarotti sort of way.
Dan Storer - Guitar, Cigarettes
Fixing for a smoke? Take a close look at that cancer stick pal. Looking for something? It’s in the details; it’s always in the details. Dan is the detail. He is the harmonizer – no not the cheesy kid’s plastic harmonica/piano – the filter of Hilliard’s cigarette, protecting it’s listeners from too much tar but leaving them with plenty of nicotine. OK you can smoke now. |
