Music Style Funky House; Tribal House

Artist History Over the past year alone, our three DJs, Todd Hanna, Phil Jakob and Mike Hoska, have held residencies at Chateau in New York City, Pravda 116 in Boston, Metropolis in Providence, Therapy in Providence, and Club Pink in Newport. Collectively or individually, we have appeared at most of the major nightclubs in New England, and have played with some of the world’s best-known DJs. Most recently, we opened up for Dirty Vegas (of ‘Days Gone By’ fame) in New York City. In addition, we are already slated to play an 8 hour set at Tantra in Miami Beach on Friday, March 21st, during the Winter Music Conference week. Our unique blend of energetic funky house music, coupled with award-winning skills of turntablism, has garnered us a significant area following and a great deal of regional press. For example, the Boston Globe recently heralded Groovefire as “rising DJ stars…whose immensely danceable mix of funky, Latin, tribal and progressive house music keeps the dance floor full until closing time.” Groovefire has spent the past couple of months in the studio, completing several originally produced tracks, which will be available in vinyl and CD formats shortly after the Winter Music Conference.
