Artist description
At a Fathoms Depth is a four-piece rock band from
the university town of Trondheim, Norway, which
started up in September 2001. They play evocative
and dark rock music with an alternative edge.
With reference to bands like Tool, Deftones and
Glassjaw, catchy riffs and intense vocals are an
integrated part of their trademark. By February
of 2002 they recorded their first EP, gathering
praise from a small but enthusiastic fan-base.
This was followed up in December 2002 by
"Pretentious Precious EP". Good reviews and
successful shows have created an increasing
interest for AFD in Trondheim's ever-changing
music scene |

Press Reviews
From SCREAM MAGAZINE:
There is a nice ring to the name
AT A FATHOMS DEPTH, which I presume is a
relatively new Norwegian band.
Like the name perhaps indicates, this is not
a metal band as such. Evocative, dark rock with
an alternative vibe is on the agenda here.
What strikes me is how professional this sounds.
The vocals are intense and sincere, and the songs
are catchy. At times the music has an aggressive
edge, but overall this makes for pleasant
listening. This is not music for the ones of you
who worship German speed metal, but is defentely
something for people who's attics are lined with
boxes full of women, red wine, and candles. |
