Artist description
Project Fiction came from the background of producers, djs with an avenue to promote the music the sounds of breaks and broken beats. It is not hard to believe that perhaps it is the very nature of the music that has brought them as one collective. After all, bassheads will tell that drum 'n' bass is quite different from the other forms of dance music. Warmer and friendlier, it is the electronic music form with the most 'integrity'!
The wonderful thing about Project Fiction music is it never stands still. It is always developing, evolving, sometimes deriving one completely new sound from another, but always with a hint of its roots left behind for the trained ear to pick up. In veins of drum 'n' bass, Project Fiction is a creative collective band that feature producers, DJs, emcee's and sound engineers. For some reason, these people has gathered up together with only one intentions, purpose and aim that they wanted to produce something intelligent and brilliant!
The drum 'n' bass scene only witnessed significant growth in the past couple of years, even though there has been a cult following of sorts since its beginning in the early '90's. After releasing their 'd.i.y-self-release' EP successfully in Singapore on July 2001 entitled 'Carnival Of The Damned!' which contains 7 pure drum 'n' bass tunes, they had a very good starting point on the music. The EP has been Project Fiction first step into the world of electronic music and its has shows the ability and credibility also creativity of Project Fiction. Project Fiction is here to show that the d'n'b music is always progressing, changing, mutating, every and each song brings with it a definitive yet transitory status!
