Artist description
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll find
my music interesting, thought provoking, uplifting,
and even easy to listen to. This is a whole new
ballgame for me, so here goes...
I am a Christian, and my inspiration for writing
lyrics and setting them to music is the direct
result of my life experience as a Christian. The
music has but one purpose, and that is to glorify
God. I'm no saint, and I certainly don't have
it all figured out, but I do have a Savior named
Jesus... and that's enough for me. |

Artist History
I grew up in South Bend, Indiana and graduated
from Indiana University in the winter of 1988.
During the summer that same year, I learned to
play the guitar on a friend's 12-string Takamine,
which he later sold me, and I've been playing it
ever since. I had to sell off four of my best
baseball cards (including a rookie Carl Yazstremski
and a Mickey Mantle from the same year), but that's
another story.
I moved to the Catskill Mountain region of New York
after college and worked in residence at a Lutheran
camp called Koinonia for the next three years. It
was during this time that I began writing music.
In 1992, I married a girl named Cheryl from Oyster
Bay (at least that's where she was from when I met
her), and carted her off to West Virginia where we
live and work today. I am the Camp Director at
Bluestone Conference Center for the Presbytery of
West Virginia, PCUSA. We have two really neat
kids, Alexandra and Brett.
By the turn of the century, it had been about
eight years since I'd written anything musically.
In the summer of 2000 I got to work with an
extraordinary group of people... the summer
program staff for Bluestone. For the record, every
staff I've worked with over the years has been
extraordinary in a variety of different ways...
but this was the year that somebody said "you know,
there ought to be a song for Bluestone... let's
write one". So we did. For me, that experience
rekindled a flame that had gone out within me.
Since then, I have been affirmed and reaffirmed
that this is a light that needs to be shined...
so here I am.
I believe Jimmy Buffet was right when he said "the
music we make here on Earth... the words they are
His own"... a line from an old song of his called
God Don't Own a Car.
I hope you will be blessed by the music on this
site. In all things, first and foremost, to God
be the glory... Amen.
