Artist History
Cobalt Fur is the brainchild of guitarist/vocalist/principle composer D'Wendt, who came up with the name as more of a way of describing the way his music sounds and feels as opposed to an actual name
for the group. The groups roster has had only minor changes since 1998, and has been performing as Cobalt Fur since 1992 when after only being together under 3 months won the non-prestigious
"battle of the bands" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which Cobalt Fur proudly calls home. D'Wendt is considered by many local and national acts as quite possibly one of the best guitarists around.
Members of Biohazard,Dio,L7,theBreeders and The Great Kat are among some of the artists who have only positive things to say about D'Wendt. Kelley Deal of theBreeders personally asked for
Cobalt Fur to open for her solo-project band ,TKD6K, when they played in Milwakee in 1997, and for her bands encore, called up D'Wendt onstage and handed him her Stratocaster to do a rousing rendition
of Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" with D'Wendt soloing. |
