Artist description
We are a band from Queens NYC that is not limited by any specific musical formulas or genres. Our sound can be classified as: Progressive "Math-Metal" with influences from Funk, Jazz, Fusion, Drum n’ Bass, NY hardcore, Classical, and Hip-Hop. The members of Stifling Neglect have a varying musical taste, which brings an element of cooperation and compromise to the table. This allows a particular song or idea to expand with no limits.
In January on 2003, Stifling Neglect had the privilege to record a demo at Jupiter 4 Studios with Steve Schalk (VBS) and Ken Schalk (Candiria). The 2 song Demo CD features several guest musicians on vocals and percussion: Chris (Without Reason) vocals, Christian (36 Deadly Fists) vocals, Phil (Irate) vocals, Justin (Subsist) Doumbek, Ken (Candiria) Congas/Trumpet.
The CD is available for just $2! Shirts are available for 0nly $6!
We greatly appreciate any one willing to show their support
by buying a shirt or CD. |

Artist History
Stifling Neglect came together in the fall of 2000 when Danny (drummer) and Jorge (vocalist) met Chris (guitarist). They began jamming in Dannys basement trying to figure out what direction they would go. The addition of Aaron as a bassist helped to solidify an unconventional outlook on music. Shawn, another guitar player that they all knew through skateboarding joined the band with similar ambitions for music. At the time, a name for the ensemble wasn’t even necessary, but after a few weeks of collaboration they stumbled upon the name “Paradigm Entropy”. Needless to say, the name was changed shortly after.
Stifling Neglect played their first show in the basement of St. Fidelis Church with Full-Blown Chaos and Without Reason, however a hardcore/metal show in a church just didn’t work out. Next, we began performing at the Redzone, Castle-Heights and Backyard Parties around Queens. Soon after, we were able to play shows in such clubs as L'amours, The Continental, CBGB’s, and The Village Pub. Some of the bands we've played with include: Irate, E-town Concrete, Full Blown Chaos, Billy Club Sandwich, Locked in a Vacancy, Without Reason, Sworn Enemy, Through the Discipline, Mastodon, Shattered Realm, and many others. |

STIFLING NEGLECT
STIFLING NEGLECT
SELF RELEASED CD
Queens, NY's finest Stifling Neglect have wheeled out its best on the quintet's latest release, and despite the disc being only two songs deep, there's so much going on here that you need a d**n good attention span to keep up. Peppered with guest spots from members of Candiria and Irate and chock full of odd time signatures, hardcore grooves, death metal breakdowns and jazzy, free form expressionist jam sessions, Stifling Neglect challenges both the listener and themselves, pushing musical boundaries out of the way for the sake of creating a mutant kind of hardcore that will leave you speechless. www.stiflinneglect.com
