Artist History
Started in Feb 2003, MOD decided to start a metal core band because Twin Falls really didn't have a local metal or hardcore band. So BJ found other band members from different bands and 2 new comers ADAM and CHRIS on guitars... After about 2 and half months Travis decided that it was time to call it quits with hardcore music and he quit the band. So MOD was on the hunt for a new drummer until they found Tom Morse(was in a band named Pyus that played with BJ's older band Daltons alot). After getting Tom it opened so many more doors to what they wanted there music to sound like. So they dropped all but 3 of there songs and started writing new... They will be recording with Tom in Late June or July... |

SOUNDCHECK: The Hanover Saints, My Own Demise, The Agreement and August Farewell

Headlining an eclectic show isn’t always easy. Nor is playing any spot on the bill, for that matter. If you’re a metal band, all of the punkers stand outside while you play; when it’s the punkers’ turn, the metal kids take their places in the bitter-cold smoking section; and if, God forbid, you’re an emo band...well, when you all cry together, everyone else stands around pretending that they don’t want to do the same.
This week’s edition of the variety show is lead by My Own Demise, rumored to be the heaviest band in Idaho (those claims have not been verified), and Hanover Saints, described by many as “oi punk.” If anyone really knows what “oi” means, let me know, because my trusty Webster’s is coming up short this time.
Oi punk or not, Hanover Saints provide fun music with lyrics that unveil a soul tormented by spirituality and its repercussions. Declaring that “I never hit you with the holy book,” and begging, “forgive me, forgive me, I was here before I had faith,” their song “Faith and Scene” should be an anthem for anyone who has ever unjustly been labeled a hypocrite because they listen to good music on Saturday and attend church on Sunday.
My Own Demise, from Twin Falls, Idaho, will be there to please the metal kids Thursday with the most aggressive sound of the night. Speaking of oi (or maybe not, since I still don’t know what it means), rounding out the mix is the Agreement and the emo kids in August Farewell. Doors open at 6, show starts at 7. Tickets are $5 at the door. ALL-AGES.
