Artist History
With great respect for the pioneers of early blues, jazz and rock-n-roll, Casey Just is writing and performing new songs that push the envelope of modern-day song composition while still maintaining the raucous tonality, kinetic energy and primal edge that has been missing in popular rock music for decades.
He calls his style of music "Twangadelic-Funkabilly-Blues-Jazznik"tm, or Rock-n-Roll for short. His main influences are Tom Waits, CCR, John Fogerty, The Meters, Soul Coughing, and Southern Culture on The Skids. He is also influenced by greats such as Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Buddy Guy, Hank Williams Sr. and Link Wray.
Originally from Northern Utah Casey Just has been playing music, writing songs, and playing clubs for 15 years. He played at venues all over northern and central Utah thru the Nineties and then relocated to Austin, Texas in late 2000, where he put together a power trio to support his self-titled debut album. He has since been playing in the local Austin scene at such notable clubs as Stubbs, The Saxon Pub, The Speakeasy, The Pier, Metro and the Vibe. He plans on touring the Netherlands and Austria in 2003.
